The grey squirrel (Sciurus carolinensis) was introduced into the UK from North America in the 19th century. They can be incredibly destructive to trees and property and if you are unfortunate enough to have a nest (drey) in your loft space then the cost of repairing the damage to cables and structure can run into thousands; tens of thousands in extreme cases.
